Making CD Custom Installation of Windows XP (1)

This tutorial will guide you in making a Windows installation CD that can be installed automatically complete with all the hotfix, drivers, DirectX, IE7, Media Player 11, Office 2007 or any application that you want to add to the CD. You can also remove components not useful, resemble some tweaks to the installation CD to get XP with high speed. To create the installation CD you need nLite, .Net Framework 2.0 and CD WinXP.

Instructions:
1. Copy all the content WinXP CD to a local folder.
2. Install .Net Framework 2.0 and nLite.
3. Select the language of your choice on the first page.


4. Tell nLite where your WinXP file. Choose “Browse” and navigate to the local folder which is you have created  in the first step

5. You can choose only one operation, or a combination or all operations. For example, you can choose to create an ISO and did not bother the rest:

6. Service Pack: simply download SP2 for WinXP and nLite will do the rest. If you integrate SP2 (or even SP3), you do not need SP1 because SP2 will replace it.

7. Hotfixes, and AddOns Update Packs: Add hotfix or update the packs on your installation.

* You can get the hotfix XP use RyanVM Post SP2 Update Pack or Windows Updates Downloader.
* Windows Media Player 11: Download WMP11 Integrator and installer. Use WMP 11 Integrator for add the WMP11 on WinXP CD before making any changes in nLite.
* Internet Explorer 7.0: simply download IE7 and add .exe files to nLite.
* AddOns: Download more than 350 addons for nLite from WinAddons.

8. Drivers: integrate drivers in the XP installation CD. Find the .inf files and nLite will do the rest. http://driverpacks.net/ blessing you can create the installation CD for almost all of the hardware.

9. Components: Select the components that you want to delete from the installation. Make sure you have read the brief information before deleting component, especially the red.

By selecting Advanced, you will be given the opportunity to save some specific files. For example, you can remove “Command Line Tools, but you can save ping.exe, ipconfig.exe, etc.
